This spring, the alarm for COVID-19 was sounded in multiple regions of China once and again without stop. In quick response, the various business and functional departments of Far East Horizon adjusted their original pace of operation. Whether fighting at the frontline or holding fast to the headquarters, the people of Far East Horizon went in harm’s way without hesitation. With determination to win, abundant positive energy and high morale, they faced the difficulties right now bravely, calmly and confidently. In addition to active cooperation with the government on various epidemic prevention and control measures and consciousness implementation of corporate responsibilities, Far East Horizon persisted in continuous work and production, to guarantee the orderly advancement of various projects.

In the afternoon of March 22, after complete contract signing with a client in Hengyang, account managers Yin Xi and Mo Zhijun from Division 3, Chemical Medicine Department II of Far Eastern Leasing could not take the high-speed train because of the epidemic situation. So, they drove nearly 600 km for about 6.5 hours in heavy rain to finally arrive at Ruichang, Jiujiang, Jiangxi at round 10:30 in the evening, and completed contract signing with another client the next morning. Then, they was informed that due to the transmission chain of diagnosed COVID-19 patients, the entire city of Ruichang had been locked down since the morning of March 23. As a result, they could not return as scheduled.

The unexpected incident put Yin Xi and Mo Zhijun in an awkward position with difficulties in accommodation and meals. Later, after communicating through multiple channels including the local COVID-19 command center, they were finally accepted into a hotel accommodating business travelers, and held out to the lift of lockdown with instant noodles and free boxed meals. During the lockdown of Ruichang, they actively abided by local epidemic prevention and control measures including citywide nucleic acid testing and hotel quarantine, and finally got to leave for home by car in the morning of March 31.

Director Xiong Zhiyong from Division 1, Electronic Information Department II of Far Eastern Leasing is in charge of business in Northern Zhejiang and Anhui. During the epidemic period, personnel from Shanghai were controlled strictly in the above regions. From mid to end of March, difficulties in traveling to the client sites grew, and two out of the three members of the Northern Zhejiang team were trapped in Shanghai, while the mobility of the Anhui team was also under great impact. Xiong Zhiyong’s home is in Shanghai. In order to carry out work normally, he left Shanghai in the middle of March and has not returned since. All alone, he rushed back and forth between Northern Zhejiang and Anhui frequently to supper and supervise the work of his teams, and respond the demands to of clients as best as he could during this special period.

From the moment they arrived at the headquarters building, Jiang Zhenjing, Zhangli, Guo Tianyi and other 3 colleagues from the Executive Management Department of the Operating Center have braced themselves for a protracted war. Despite their worries about parents, children or spouse, to fulfil their career missions, they still headed to the headquarters in the evening of March 27 with indomitable will, and defended the headquarters along with 219 “heroes in harm’s way” of Far East Horizon for many days and nights

To fulfil responsibilities and live up to trust, employees like Guo Tianyi shuttled back and forth in the extraordinarily quite office area, sometimes handling over 50 contracts per day to guarantee business at the end of this quarter. Their busy working almost restored this place to normal days before the outbreak of COVID-19. 

 

Faced with sudden changes in life including continuous tense epidemic situation, emergency adjustment or routine work practices and no more alternation between work and life scenarios, the people of Far East Horizon remained undaunted and unflinching. Director Liu Haomin from Division 2, Chemical Medicine Department I of Far Eastern Leasing lives in Huamu Neighbored, Pudong New Area—one of the most severely afflicted areas by COVID-19 in Shanghai. During the epidemic period, Liu Haomin actively responded to the various epidemic prevention and control requirements the governed, and set strict demands on himself as an outstanding member of the Communist Party of China. When his neighbored was short of hands, he stepped forward bravely and defied hardship and danger to take an active part in the neighbored volunteer work.

Assiduous Hero

 

The unexpected outbreak of COVID-19 interrupted the life of most people, and the account manager Yuan Jiafa from Business Division II of Factoring Department is no exception. He has started working from home since March 18. Given the temporary shortage of living supplies as a result of long-time lockdown, the Company and the Department was very concerned about the difficulties faced by employees. Vice Chairman and Executive Director Kong Fanxing of Far East Horizon gave an order, “Do everything we can and overcome all difficulties to make sure that employees can work at ease.” Under the concerted efforts of the Company and actively implementation of assistance and care, Yuan Jiafa finally received the relief supplies, which solved his trouble at home.

 

Meanwhile, Yuan Jiafa worked more than 12 hours per day. Working from home but not restricted by the environment, he overcame inconveniences and turned the impossible into possible, either busy with desk work or engaged in online training. In the last week at the final stage of the quarter, through active coordination of multiple aspects, he completed the debt collection, reorganization and analysis of 3 factoring businesses in 3 conventional business units in a row, to guarantee the fulfilment of the quarterly tasks of relevant business units. Starting from March 21, he made use of nighttime to complete 4 online trainings for conventional business units, with over 120 person-times trained. The training effect turned out good with positive feedbacks.
