On April 4, when the battle of Shanghai against COVID-19 just reached the most intense moment, Far East Horizon donated special funds and supplies for epidemic prevention and control to the Government of Putuo District, the Lujiazui Administration of Pudong New Area, the World Expo Administration, and the Shanggang Xincun Subdistrict Office, with a total amount of almost 3 million yuan. As one of the earliest enterprises making donations to Shanghai in its current battle against COVID-19, Far East Horizon has contributed its strength to the victory of Shanghai.

Under the current epidemic situation, taking the prevention and control of COVID-19 as its own responsibility, the Company has been fulfilling its duties with actual deeds. In the past month, governments of Shanghai at all levels have insisted on putting people’s life first with no efforts spared to guarantee the safety and health of the people. Entrusted with a mission at a critical moment, anti-epidemic workers on all fronts have scarified individual interests for public good and struggled hard amid difficulties round the clock, their strength accumulated into a solid force and a song of selfless dedication pulling at people’s heart-strings. Far East Horizon immediately contacted the local governments at various levels to follow the requirements and orders of epidemic prevention and control and donate money and supplies actively. 

Fearless of danger and difficulty, those workers on the front line of epidemic prevention and control fought continuously day and night. Their sense of responsibility and willingness to sacrifice are impressive and touching. To aid the World Expo Administration, Far East Horizon made a special donation of 500,000 yuan in support of over 1000 front-line medical workers, community workers and volunteers, to fight COVID-19 side by side with them as best as it can.

Far East Horizon is situated in Shanggang Xincun Subdistrict, Pudong New Area. During this period, grass-roots anti-epidemic workers of the subdistrict were the people it most frequently dealt with. In every nucleic acid testing, distribution of supplies, transfer of patient and response to those seeking help, we witnessed the bravery and tenacity of subdistrict and neighborhood workers, floor leaders and volunteers under pressure. They fought relentlessly on the front line of epidemic prevention and control, and their conscientiousness and dedication have tremendously boosted our confidence and determination to win the battle against COVID-19.

Gift packs for public security and urban management officers

April is supposed to be relaxing and pleasant spring time, but right now Shanghai is going through a critical period of epidemic prevention and control. “The more strenuous work is, the more efforts should be made.” And the public security officers, urban management officers and firefighters in the Expo area of Pudong, where Far East Horizon Plaza is situated, are just a group of tenacious people like this. To pull through difficult times, they worked extra shifts and fought without rest. Many of them worked and lived in offices 24 hours a day, and held fast to their posts for more than 20 days consecutively. In particularly, during the holiday of Tomb Sweeping Day when the tasks were the heaviest, quite a few worked non-stop for two whole days. 

As the only office building still working in Lujiazui and the Expo area at the time, Far East Horizon always wondered what it can do for the heroes fighting at the battlefront. On April 3, the first day of the Tomb Sweeping Day holiday, led by the Company’s leaders, the employees on duty at the headquarters of Far East Horizon squeezed some supplies from the Company’s limited reserve, which were sorted, packaged, boxed up and sent to public security and urban management officers working on the front line in the Expo area. With vegetables grown in its farms, Far East Horizon supports the local epidemic prevention and control with all its might.

On that day, when nearby a hundred boxes of fresh vegetables and nutrition packs including bread and milk were delivered to front-line workers including public security officers and urban management personnel, they said, “Right now, these fresh vegetables are even more valuable than previous herbs. They truly solved our most urgent needs.” Even so, we are aware that our contribution is limited under the current circumstances. But we’d like to tell those bravest “heroes in harm’s way” and the guardians of Shanghai that we shall face difficulties together, and unity of will is an impregnable stronghold. To fight this battle side by side with you is the due responsibility and obligation of Far East Horizon.
